Ampable replaced two dead and two aging property-owned chargers with four fully managed Level 2 chargers, at no cost to the property and with no work for the site team.

Optima Lakeview is a 198-unit luxury community in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood. In March 2026, Ampable replaced its failing property-owned chargers with a fully managed charging service, at no cost to the property. The demand was already there. Reliability unlocked it: residents adopted the chargers immediately, every one of them kept using them, and the two busiest months so far were the most recent ones.
Residents start a charge with one tap in the app or an RFID card, with no QR codes and no payment forms. When early feedback said the launch price felt high, Ampable lowered it within a month, with nothing for the property to approve or administer. In the latest resident survey, pricing was rated "very fair," reliability scored 5 out of 5, and on-site charging was described as a major factor in choosing the building and a 10 out of 10 for renewing the lease.
There is room to grow without an upgrade. Seven more resident EVs are already parked in the garage without a charger, and the existing panel can support 14 additional charging spots with Ampable's load management, double what a conventional build-out would allow, with no construction.
100%. All four chargers were in use within three weeks, every resident is a repeat user, and everyone who started charging in March is still charging today.
One interruption, a 60-second building power blip. The chargers recovered on their own. 24/7 remote monitoring catches issues before residents or staff notice.
Zero support tickets and zero staff hours. No calls, emails or maintenance requests reached property management.
Optima Lakeview owned four chargers. Two were completely offline and the other two were aging, with no in-house team to repair them and no vendor taking responsibility. Residents sat on a waitlist for EV parking. Ownership wanted a fix with no risk to the asset and no new work for the site team.
Ampable funded the chargers and the installation on the garage's existing electrical capacity, with no panel work and no construction. Hardware, software, billing, resident support, monitoring and maintenance are all handled by Ampable. Ampable earns only when chargers work and residents use them, and the property receives a share of charging revenue every month, with live visibility in the Ampable Console.
"EV charging is increasingly an essential amenity, and this pilot at Optima Lakeview has allowed us to test a solution that aligns with our standards for quality and convenience. We're encouraged by the initial results and excited about what this means for our residents."
The same four steps we follow at every property, from first walkthrough to a live, reporting charger network.

Four Level 2 chargers in assigned resident stalls on the existing panel, with load management that leaves headroom for 14 more charging spots.
The aging units were replaced with no panel work and no disruption to residents or parking operations.
All four chargers were in use within three weeks. Ampable handles monitoring, billing, support and maintenance, sends a performance report every month, and pays Optima a revenue share.
